Is it a bad thing for the FRT to shed its shelling lining? Looks like the same clear pieces of skin you see come off Lima Shovelnose cats. He doesnt have any fungus and just 2 days ago I had him out under a UVB light for an hour and also before that I wiped down his shell.

Myself I think its normal growth but I just need to make sure.

turtles do shed
the scute "scales" come off individually i think

Wow.......Turtles shed, but FRTs don't have scutes.......

You'd need a picture(s) of what your looking before anyone can even make a guess at what's going on.......

If I'm correct, it's perfectly normal. Turtles with softer shells/no scutes shed off the fine outer skin. Sort of how frogs do it. I have seen a few softshells going through this as well.
