Quarantine Tank
So my friend wanted me to post this thread in hopes of getting some suggestions. Heres the situation...

In his tank there is an FRT and 2 stingrays. The problem is that whenever he puts in some algea wafers for the FRT the stingrays eat the algea wafers! Problem is he doesnt want to feed the entire tank at the same time because the FRT will then ignore the wafers and go after the high protein pellets and thawed out krill.

Any ideas?!?

One suggestion I offered (which I think Zach once used) was to put a little basking hammock in the tank. Typically used for lizard but hopefully useful for getting the rays away from the wafers. Sits nicely in the corner of the tank thou fugly IMO and who knows the rays just might simply swim up to the net and snatch the wafers anyways? (pic of the hammock below)

:feedback:

* No comments regarding the frt / stingray mix needed, he is fully aware of the risk.

hand feeding? do know much about the beak of an FRT but it may be a possibility.
do they make floating algea pellet?

I'd go hand feeding gr8

or if its that big of a problem i would seperate the FRT

what about fresh veggies etc? Are the algea wafers staple? Think you can buy sticks that you could clip on to the side of the tank... just an idea.

You could use a clip like davo said or maybe use some long plastic tweesers instead so you don't risking being bit by hand feeding.

I would try the net they are pretty cheap.. it either works or it don't... also like mentioned maybe the clips at the top of the tank....or feed the rays pellets like sinking carnivor or massivevor
