If a Fly River turtles shell seems to be peeling what could this be from and the water is fine, is this just natural for them and any meds or vitamins to give to them

Mines peeled one time long ago near the time I first got it. I think it's a growth thing or a change in the environment thing but don't know. It was a very thin layer that came off but the turtle was fine. It's the deep hole or infection on the shell that is a concern. That would require medication and better upkeep of the water.

So that's normal for them I think the person who I bought it from said it's been like that for a while he said something about taking it out and putting iodine on its back for about an hour do you know anything about doing something like that

Don't do anything unless it gets visibly significantly worse or the turtle's behavior/eating changes. Probably just a growth/shedding type of thing. My snakeneck did that a bunch when I first got her and she was growing, and I'll occasionally see some skin flaking off now that she's bigger. Freaked me out initially, now I don't worry.
