What can I use for fruit flies to eat and/or lay eggs on?
Any easy solutions not involving molasses? ----Rotten bananas perhaps?
The blue stuff they came with is drying out,, help! I was hoping to keep this culture going.

what do you use fruitflies for, but yeah any rotten FRUIT would work
   not raggin' you just set yourself up for that one LOL

Strange, most people want to get rid of them. but yes, any rotting fruit will be fine! How come you want fruit-flys, just as a matter of interest?

I want fruitflys for fish and newts to eat. I have too many animals not to grow and breed some of their food. Ive found some recipes but they are complicated.
They involve things I dont have at least.

I cant imagine not finding a better medium, this is insane..

So far I havent seen one fly , even though they have wings, they crawl around everywhere!

Keeping them contained is another story.
