I've been in the fish game for 20+ years and never had a problem beating the occasional Ich outbreak (salt + increased temps have always worked quickly and efficiently). Well, I picked up a RT Shark 10 days ago that was seemingly in good health (good color, no spots, good fins, etc). Woke up two days ago to find all of my fish (excluding my pleco) covered in Ich. Immediately responded with increasing the temp to 85F and adding salt to combat the parasite. Today, the spots have intensified and the poor fish are flashing quite a bit (especially my nice male JD and BP's). Did a lot of reading and have become aware of the "Eastern Super Ich". I'm really hoping I don't have this, seeing as it's extremely difficult to kill. Treated my tank this morning with "Quick Cure" and hoping that it combats the Ich. Any thoughts or suggestions? Will be performing PWC's every three days between treatments. I've heard about new strains becoming more resilient, but this is just crazy!
