So, here's my problem maybe someone knows what I can do to fix or change something...

I have an 180g that came with a diy like filter, it works fine but I wanted more filteration so I bought the Eheim professional II and ever since then I have had a hard time keeping the temp down. I have two Jager 250W heaters in the tank but since my heat is up one is unplugged and the other is never on(at least that I've seen) I also have a underwater light in the tank with a Power-glo T8 40W bulb in it(but the bulb was in 2 weeks before the heating problem started.

When this first happened I unplugged everything but the two filtration systems and the lighting. The temp was around 84 and it did seem to cool down a little and return to 81 but now the temp is back up to 84. Now I keep Piranhas so the temp shouldn't be that much of a problem but still I would like for my temp to be where I want it to be.

Does anyone have any advice for me or had something similar happen to them, if so what did you do?

Remove the ProII from the system for a day or so and see if the temps drop. A 2028 is only like 20W or so.

To keep the BB in the eheim alive let it recycle in a rubbermaid container.

I've got a 20g just sitting empty I could place it in. I take it out later tonight. If it is the Pro II how can I reduce the heat down or am I stuck with it as long as I have the Pro II in it, did this happen to anyone else using a Pro II, if so what did you do to resolve this problem?
