I want everyone with an asian aro, is it worth it to train to eat pellets?

shrimp is cheaper in this country (new zealand) pelelts are damn expensive.

i hav ebeen starving him now, day 10, this morning ate 3 to 4 pellets, left the rest for the ornate bichir -

should i give up and just re feed prawns stuffed with pellets or just pellets?
does that layer on top of the water after feeding shrimps do anything?

damn! so annoying! it loves prawns, will attack and eat it like theres no tommorow - but taking so long for pellets.

so wanna know , should i keep pushing pellets or just feed it prawns? i wnat the best colour for it -

Overhere pellets are more expensive too (one hikari 600g pack buys a whooping 4 kg of fresh prawns). Nobody i know here feeds hikari (i keep it as an emergency). Pellets supposedly have a balanced diet ^^ so yes, it is worthwhile i recon.

If you want to train pellet, feeding nothing else apart from pellet. Once you give varity to it, it'll start choosing and making the training useless.

worth everyday of its starvation. nutritious and well balanced. in case of a vacation, my family would not feed meal worms or cut up prawns to help out. but pellets is easiest.

asa note
if you look at the protein content of Hikari versus prawns
you are actually looking at very similar rations of weight andcost.
thats why i think beter value for money is the pellets.

what was the longest anyone here as waited to make their fish eat pellets?

I think the pellets would give a better nutrition benefit for the fish. It sometimes takes awhile for a fish to get used to a new food. You can feed prawns too but you can do something like feed it some days and some days feed pellets etc, if you want.

If pellets are expensve for you, you might wanna think about buying in bulk, you get it a little cheaper that way.

yeah, price isnt the issue, its wether or not feeding it pellets is worthwhile.. but i guess overwhelmingly people say yes. it is worth it.

the only reason i ask is that... see, i buy fish for 2 reasons, the look and colour and novelty and to watch them eat:) i love watching my fish eat lol
so i havbe been frustrated, i get satisfaction from watching the fish eat lol
so it hasnt really been eating, just a couple of pellets per day, maybe only 30-50% of the pellets i put in there he eats, the rest is left for other fish as it soaks up water....

also prawns leave a grimey layer on top of the water and its unsightly lol

Pellets are a more balanced and concentrated form of nutrition. Remember prawns are mostly made up of water.
