Today marks the 18th day of the brooding cycle for my female red peaock. How should I go about stripping them from her mouth? I have a 10 gallon ready to house the babies. Should I remove all decorations in my tank to get her fast? I sure would hate to see her swallow them.

wait until the 21th day and yea on that day you should remove the decorations so it would be much easier to catch her so she wont swallow any

I removed them yesterday and theres about 15 to 20 fry that made it. I was wondering how I should go about feeding them? I crushed up flake food really fine but its still floating at the top. Are they smart enough to look to the surface for food?

Pics will be posted soon!

If you want them to get the best color, go to your LFS and get some frozen cyclopeeze. You can feed them this for a few weeks then start in the New Life Spectrum grow formula. One thing you have to remember about peacocks too is that they take a long time to get their color. Compared to other cichlids. Prob like 6 months for the males to start showing.

This is a cell phone picture, I'm still waiting to get my camera back from my girlfriend.
