For all the soon to be or already keepers of fry from our breeding projects, I thought it would be useful for everyone to list what type of fry they are raising and what you feed them. Whether you make your own foods or buy from vendors. And feel free to add any reputable sources in which you acquire your fry food.

Not much happening right now in my breeding projects, but heres what I got and what I feed them.

FRY: Geophagus Orangehead

FOODS: crushed flake, Hikari "First Bites", Baby Brine Shrimp

SOURCE: usually www.drsfostersmith.com, www.petsolutions.com, or www.bigalsonline.com

I appreciate this thread it helped me out when no one answered my question in a previous thread. It should be stickied, no one has compiled a list like this yet.

FRY: Convict

FOOD: Hikari Frozen baby brine shrimp, Crushed tetraMin Pro tropical crisps

FRY: Angelfish

FOOD: millimeter and half-inch whiteworms, hair algae, fairy shrimp culture, boiled egg yolk (use sparingly! super-fouler if overfed.), crushed massivore, tropical granules (tetra's red ColorBits has a new name. Most tetra product is garbage, but this one food is amazing) and goldfish food mixed in for fiber. All dry foods ground together and kept in a mortar and pestle with lid. Also used a Giant Ramshorm apple snail and adult fairy shrimp as junk patrol and critter generators.
