Anybody know a good place to find pics of some florida native fry???? We keep collecting tilapia for my friend's pond (pics coming soon) and when they are small enough the tilapia and the bluegill/sunfish look a bit a like. We have caught a few little bass and cats, but we really want some bluegills/sunfish too.

We just need some good ways to indentify them.

I know that you are not collecting fry THAT small, or larval.

Bluegills/sunfish are more translucent and tilapia have multiple thin black bands. Bluegills/sunfish in that size range (I'm guessing 1 inch or so) are more round. They also have a "broken" dorsal fin, whereas tilapia have a more uniform continuous dorsal fin.

thanks for the quick responses folks. Santoury, I think your info may be the most helpful for now.

thanks again guys
