this guy came in much bigger than i expected and i can't keep him with my much smaller fishes, so he's gotta go.

pick up in Ann Arbor, MI 48103. price is $150 (i paid much more for this fish with shipping). gar is in perfect condition, eats any non-live foods. thanks for your interest; post, PM, or email (E_americanus@hotmail.com) with any questions.--

forgot to add, it's $150 OBO for pick up. shipping this fish will cost a fortune, so im not considering it at this time--

Ooooh, real gator? Got any pics?

hey rob, yup, its a true alligator gar (Atractosteus spatula). it was a pain to get a hold of this specimen, and now it looks like i will have to give it up. im going to try and keep it fed and see how things go, but chances are i will have to still give up the fish.

you can check out pics of gator gars on www.primitivefish.com, it looks like any of those regular morph gators. may add pics when i get the chance/time, but there are plenty of reference pics available and he looks just like those.

email me if you're interested in the fish, i know you're in PA, so we may be able to work something out--

After all that searching I can't believe you are getting rid of it. I would like one, but I you know I have no tanks at the moment, and I don't think my parents would let me get one big enough to keep one properly.

Hope you find a good home for it.

How long did you think a small one would last? The growth rate on these fish is crazy! Good luck on the sale.

You're probably just getting rid of it because that shortnose is eating his lunch :D

I'm in love with the idea but I honestly don't know where I would put him. I need to get RID of some fish at the moment. I'm going to keep it in mind though.
