This fish is also known as the Saddled Bichir or the Saddled Polypterus. It is a very prehistoric looking fish that is sure to be a hit in any large aquarium. Due to the adult size of this Bichir, a tank size of 100 gallons or more is required. This fish in the wild will eat smaller fish, but in captivity it can adjust to eating other meaty foods if adjusted to them gradually. These fish are durable, covered in a hard almost armor like plating.
