Its new, still has a paper wrap on the bio-wheel and has never touch the water. It doesnt fit his aquarium since its to big, everything was opened ready to go but was never use. My co-worker lost the receipt due to excitement at petsmart and cant exchange it for an aquaclear. So if you know anyone or have an old receipt you can use it as an exchange or get credited. He would have done it but we dont know anyone or have a receipt. (
