Description:
Anyone interested in a big Tiger? Guessing this to be one of the bigger Tigers on this board. Tanzie that's closing in on 2'.

I'm willing to meet up for the right deal, but this fish is no joke, an instant centerpiece. Not for the timid. I'd rather hand feed my Aimara then mess with this thing, big, strong, fast.

I don't need to sell - not going to give away, but am willing to work with the right person that has the means to care for auch an impressive specimen.

Where are Tanzies on the aggression scale among ATF?

I would call them the least aggressive of the colorful (NON Gatf) species..... Ive had great luck mixing Tatf with NON confrontational fish. Confrontational fish like Jardini don't fair well, but mellower stuff like Wolves and Brycon have been fine.....

Wow bro good luck getting your massive Tiger to a good home!
If you can post a pic or video I would love to share it around!
Hope it gets to a giant tank.

lol.... Finding a toothy fish a good home here in the midwest wil be boarderline impossible. Hobbysists here keep hundreds of 10 gallons to breed bugs in. The predatory fish hobby isn't dead in the midwest, it NEVER existed.......

I'll work on getting a vid but its in a pond, and gets pissed when I turn air/pumps off......

Guessing it's at least 3" thick..... Getting very hard to tell it apart from the giant Brycon - that fish (Brycon) has been with me for many years. Spent a portion of his life in VLDesign's massive 2700 gallon, another fish that is probably one of the biggest of its species on this board...... Was easily 18" when we moved a year ago before going into the 20' long pond....

Wow and you're willing to meet risking transporting it yourself amazing deal

I'm pretty confident no one will take me up on it...... I doubt the zoo is going to come get it so more then likely, yes, I will be transporting it to its new home..... In a 300 gallon stock tank. In the back of my van. Down by the river. lol :)

The lil guy I sold before this one made the trip from me out to Chicago (7+ hours) no problem. They're transportable - just have to prepare...... :)

Thank you for your answer, DB.

Other than fasting, prepare how? Did the successful drive involve tranquilizers? Since this one much bigger, will you have to use drugs this time?

Ohio is midwest and seems to have a wonderful populace of MFKers. It's not too terribly far from Iowa... by my scale anyway. Illinois is closer and hosts some of our peers too.

The last 7+ hour tour was NO filtration, only a waterchange along the way. We used a 150 gallon rubbermaid tub with a styro lid. Wired in a 2000 watt inverter to run a coral life luft pump for air, I think there was close to a half dozen heaters in play (was cold out) and I believe a powerhead.

This tour I think I'd use a 300 gallon tub and more then likely a canister filter too....

Never sedated a fish and have no plans to in the future.

I believe the Db Drag finals was in Cleveland back in 2005, was a pretty long trip if I remember right, I don't think Chicago was even half way......

Wow. Full life support ambulance for fish. Thank you again for sharing all this and sorry for derailing the thread. I've learned. I only hope it will help a prospective buyer too.
