I have a mata mata turtle for sale. He is currently feeding on tilapia filets and will hunt for rosey reds when given. Pick up only in Pomona 91766. PM me if interested. $200.

Just be patient. Cut off his live source of food and start spot feeding (with a set of tweezers or chopsticks or whatever) small pieces of tilapia. He'll eventually take them.
 
do you know if mata mata's are aggresive towards other fish and do they need any sort of land fixtures or can the just breathe at the surface like an aro or gar?

He's been with a 22" aro, bichirs, clown loaches, dats, eels. No aggression towards any of them. They don't need to sun bathe like other turtles so they can be kept fully aquatic. Make sure though that it'll be able to
reach the surface easily (ie. driftwood to reach the water surface) because it's not the most elegant of swimmers.
 
that's sick i've always wanted a cool turtle but didn't think i'd be able to keep one with anything but other turtles! where exactly are you located?
