Juvenile Redfin Pickerel (Esox Americanus americanus) 4-5" long, eating feeder guppies.

$10 each, plus shipping costs.

There are three right now (living with my big guy at 6"), and I shall continue to dipnet.

Also up to my ankles in LMB juvies (3-4") and white suckers.

how will these do with grass pickerel? i have 2, they are smaller, maybe 2"
PM me please, in case i forget this thread ;)

I did not know there were so many problems shipping native, dipnetted fishes, so these are no longer for sale. If anyone in Eastern CT would like to trade for equipment, such as old powerheads or air pumps, I would love to.

I got the pm, but I checked CT DOAG and DEP laws and there is no regulation on removal of pickerel of any size or LBM of any size in brooks and streams. Anyone else want to weigh in? I haven't enough information either way. I know that the white suckers are legal as bait minnows, especially if they're from a brook or stream.

I had asked what the highest temperature the pickeral can tolerate. :nilly:

I have 1 in 78F. Another in about 65F. They both do fine, but I feel they prefer the cooler water.

i've heard from most anglers that pickerel are found most often in water from 70-80F, not sure on what they prefer but they are definitely tolerant.

also, new2natives, you're probably fine with just your two grass pickerel. It seems as though if there is anything more than a 3" difference, pickerel regard each other as prey items.
