Anyhow, they are JUMPERS. I bought him and another last year at about 4" and needless to say, the other one jump out of the tank (It was roughly a 6x3" opening).
I never read it being able to eat pellets, but mine has pellets as a staple. Grand Sumo Flowerhorn food to be exact, haha.

Very neat fish. Really don't understand why more people don't have them..... I have 4 of them. They actually seem to swim the entire water column. Not picky on food, eat pretty much whatever is offered, shrimp, krill, and smelt. I've seen very little aggresion towards tankmates. They pretty much just keep to themselves and have exceptional manners at feeding time (wait for the Armatus to eat first). They are obviously able to hold thier own as mine are very "silvery" and in with Armatus of sililar size. This is a very reasonable price for them.........
