I recently rescued this beast but cannot house him because of his size as you can tell from the photos. He is free to a suitable home if you can pickup or 40 if I have to deliver/meet up. Willing to negate driving fee for trade of irwini Catfish, lima shovelnose catfish, or any other large south american catfish.​

Yeah man polys started me off on this damn hobby! If I had a larger tank I probably wouldn't sell him. I plan on upgrading my tank soon, but I feel so bad for the guy in a tank that is as wide as he is long. Plus I worry he will eat one of my wolves when he finally realizes just how much bigger he actually is.

I had a similar experience with them starting me off lol, they got me into oddballs, before that I had just a 10 gallon with a rainbow shark. And your hoplias will definitely be fine he looks big enough, the hoplerythrinus would probably be active enough to avoid that possibility. But I feel you on having to rehome it because it's to big, I had an Asian red tail catfish that I had to rehome. Bump for an awesome fish for sure!
