found this while searching on kijiji, humor me but with work couldnt something like this be turned into a badass aquarium? cutting off the front for a flush surface for the glass, flush mounted to a wall. not a bottom dweller tank due to the curve, but 2200 litres is 580 gallons. my dads a welder, and i can get cheap glass.

would it work? only problem... lol weight and actually getting it into your house!

meh. it'd make a better bbq.

you're welcome. post pics :)

I would be worried about fuel residue leaching into the water. Or something from the metal.

What is it made of? What would you use to seal the metal to prevent leaching?

im not sure... out side just sand blasted and sealer with a good sealer. inside? not sure, fibre glass, maybe line it with somthing, i havent built any tanks myself but im a do it your self kinda guy and anything i can build rather than buy i will.

ive alsao been looking at this site, http://www.aquaticeco.com/subcategories/945/Fiberglass-Tanks-with-Window which gave me the idea to search for agricultural tanks which lead to this. optimum would be to find a fibre glass or polyester chemial container or somthing that could be converted.. ugly at first but they would clean up.

and compared to a tenecor monster or a glass giant, price wouldnt even be comparable

I just whipped this up quick on paint, but it looks like it could be nice. You could of course choose to keep the sides if you wanted, and this would lower the gallonage considerably, but it'd be much easier and cheaper than trying to fit a curved peice of glass on there, and for the punps cut out holes in the back and do a sump. Good idea, i have no clue what to use to coat the inside though.

Sorry, i didn't make the picture smaller, oops, and i can't edit it out unfortunatly.
