Full freshwater Dats or some salt?

I know TONS of you have Dats - so, simply put - do you add any salt ?

Only dats that need salt are silver dats. I have indo dats for 5+years never added salt.

All the tiny ones found at local stores - the generic ones - are those silver dats?

I've never put salt in for any of my dats and that includes silvers. That being said, I've been thinking of doing a seasonal brackish tank to see what happens

strollo - how are they doing ? Including the silvers, without salt?

They all eat well. Most are not very active except for one but they're healthy and growing. The silver is about 6", no negative side effects thus far. I have never seen anyone do a brackish datnoid tank and I've been thinking of doing it

Had dats for 4-5 yrs never used salt all heathy. Multiple silvers all happy as well

Are the silvers the generic "Datnoid" found in most LFS at small sizes ?

I don't see silvers by me. Indos are the ones you see all the time. Not a lot of people like or keep silvers
