I improved my return from sump with a 48" spray bar. drilled 18 times with a 3/32" hole. 1/2" sch 40 pvc.
I have two gate valves that I can control flow between the75g tank and the 30 gallon fry tank.
The spray bar is drilled every 4" first foot every 3" in the middle. every 2" on the far side.

I am curious if any one uses a full leghth spray bar. and if their is any best method of hole diameter vs spacing.
I started with a hole every 4". Then bath tub tested, adding more holes on the far side. from the overflow, and the input side of the
spray bar.
I have been using a turkey baster once a day. With dreams of buying a wave maker. Work is slow and pvc pipe is cheap. So I thought i would try a full legth spray bar.
It fits very nicely concealed behind the black trim in the front. holes pointing down. I mounted suction cups on the ends that hold it in place.

No reason not to go full length though I don't see the advantage either. It sounds cool. What is the purpose of changing hole spacing?

The far side half, of the spray bar, was low on flow. With holes evenly spaced. I have some dead spots that accumulate debris and turn septic.
It has been working nicely. It does restrict my flow abit.
