Wants some input on my pothos in my sump setup. I’m currently using a 18” compact flourecent light for sump pothos and I notices it’s gettingvery dim. I looked up some led from Home Depot full spectrum led lights. Anyone have any input on these? Shall I just change the t8 tube or buy a new set of less instead?

I'm sure the pothos would love it. Its way over kill. You could get away with much less. Pothos is low light plant so a cheep clamp lamp with a cfl bulb would be great also.

I have a cheap stick type grow light from Kmart and it is working great on my pothos.

I have some growing under CFLs and some under a warm spectrum LEDs, but the grow light definitely works better. The pothos grows faster and healthier too.

Unfortunately it's difficult to take a photo with this light. The plants look much better under natural light.

Hey man how ya been ?

You could find cheap grow lights on amazon that work great, had my pothos looking like a jungle.

I once had water lettuce in my sump using these lights the only down side was all the bown algae.

If i can find some pics there was one light i really liked.

You could even get a cheap flood light and a full spectrum bulb or grow light bulb

Soupa this one is great. Its flat like the shape of a floor tile. You can make a stand out of pvc so it sits above the plant or you decide to keep it in the sump. It has lengths of braided wire on each corner and can be held to the under side of the stand with magnets. Cant find any pics of how i had it set up in the sump but I can look up the the manufacturer when i get home if you like.

twentyleagues twentyleagues thank you.

J jaws7777 yes it’s been a while I haven’t go back here. Lost of a fish really puts us down especially your priced fish. yeah find out where and what type of light you have there. Worst comes to worst i’ll Keep the light I have and change out the t8 bulb on my aquarium light. Currently my sump is lite by led strips just the full spec is on a timer.

I have two betta tanks where I am growing pothos right in the tank because they like the roots.
Bettaboy and Heidi live here in the 10g.

These plants have not been going as long as my other ones but they are doing okay.

There's absolutely nothing special about my lighting on these. Just ordinary warm-white LEDs.

They work, but the same stuff on the Kmart grow light is growing a lot faster.

This is the one.

If you look through the pics you you'll see what i mean about hanging it under the tank. I used some cheap knockoff walmart mag float magnets to secure it.
