OK so like I said in the title, this will be a fun one. Instead of the usual "this is the fish I like what can i put in my 55"... I'm looking for opinions on combinations of fish I already have. This one will be pic heavy lol.

------------------SCROLL DOWN TO THE LINE IF YOU WANT TO READ THE CONDENSED VERSION---------

Ok so I have cichlids in a pond and some little tanks right now and now that I have the money I am going to drain my indoor pond and do some renovation on it. So i'm setting back up my big waterfall system which has stood empty for a while. heres a pic.. its one of those plant systems plant suppliers make to sell their product.

(I am going to set up either the first two tanks or the first three... They go 70 gallons 60 gallons 50 gallons 40 gallons as you go down. the bottom tank has a broken overflow so I can't fill it with water.)

Wate-1.jpg

Thats a pic when it was full, its empty right now so I'm starting from scratch again with all new filters heaters and gravel... the decor will be lots of driftwood and sticks, pottery pvc pipe and some plastic plants.

The fish I am going to move out are as follows...

1 mated pair of convict cichlids - Male is 5 inch and the female is half his size. They will lay in whichever tank I put them in i am sure.

1 jack dempsey - nearly five inches. here he is.

Various other convict cichlid (youngins from the pair)

1 4 inch Senegal bichir <-- I want to pay special attention to him so he dosent get killed by any cichlids.

1 2 foot Hypo. Plecostomus.

.___
Okay, so those are the fish i HAVE to move into a new tank if I want to redo my pond, which is the point.

I would also like to include some combination of these fish

2011-11-08112004.jpg

five inch red devil/flowerhorn hybrid (relativeley docile as far as RD's go)

2011-11-08113828.jpg

3-4 inch FEMALE zz flowerhorn fry.

-------These two guys are in a divided 29 gallon (which they aren't very happy in) So I would like to move them out. If i Do this, I will have an extra 29 gallon that I can put remaining fish into./

1 Four inch-ish black/gold oscar. (hes fine where he is, but I think it'd be fun to include him somehow)

I would also like to include these two one inch flowerhorn fry I have in ten gallons if possible. Since there are two of course I cannot put them in the same tank as one will dominate the other.

Then to round it all out I have ten or eleven blood parrots/ king kong parrots. They are fine where they are but I am going to include at least some of them so round out the agression as they make great dithers.
Many sizes... the biggest is my female that is the size of a small cantaloupe

Okay So there you have it. What would YOU do?
If I move the red devil and the flowerhorn into one of these tanks then I will have an extra thirty...
(I actually have two extra thirty gallons set up that I will put something in).
So I can move the convict pair to one of those.

The red devil and flowerhorns will compete with eachother. The jack isnt very agressive as jacks are (relativeley lol) but will hold his own. The oscar will occupy the upper strate of the tank.

I don't want the bichir or the little fh babies to be killed, so I might not put the FH Babies in there. but if i drain the pond, I will have to find something to do with the bichir.

The large pleco will of course go in the largest tank.

As a side note of course I'm not planning on keeping any of these fish in these tanks for life, they will get bigger quarters as they grow.. mostly what I'm looking for is a nice balance to keep them in while I work on the pond. (I play with cichlid setups all the time and am constantly experimenting)

And if you read this Aquatic_agression... I would like to find space to include your texas if youre still interested in sending him down here. But I might set up a breeding tank for him and the FH female if they get along. I have many extra tanks.

So there you have it. I like problems like this so I hope you will to... I'm hoping that some of you have had different experiences than I have had combining devils, fh, dempsies, etc. so You can think of something creative that I have not thought of.

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------CONDENSED VERSION
So just to reiterate
70 gallon empty 60 gallon empty 2 30 gallons empty.

I have
1 jack 1 red devil 1 4 in female fh 1 pleco
1 pair of convicts and 1 SMALL bichir
that NEED to go in one of these tanks.

I also have
10 parrots various sizes
one 5 in oscar
and 2 1 inch flowerhorn fry
--------------------------------I would like to include SOME of these fish. but they are fine where they are.

I am not adverse to trying new things or getting more of something... putting dithers in etc.. I like fish alot especially propa cichlids.

(o and also... I have been thinking of trying to pair the rd with a parrot or fh as I am into hybrids and kkp)

So yeah thanks guys hope somebody chimes in with a similar experience.

What would YOU do?

lol thanks
