fun with turtles

we went camping this weekend and while the kids where fishing. we kept hearing something in the woods behind us. so we just had to investagate!
what we found was a turtle. I wasn't sure what kind so I thought I'd ask.

ID needed pic #1 or #2 is better

after all the kids got to look at him we watched him walk back to his swampy home. pic's #3-4

Its a painted turtle i like them but ive never kept them...
