Fungal infection

Hey guys, well it sadden me that my big FH has really been struggling from the many moves he's been in the past week. hes been given to a LFS then rescued by me...

It seems that he is showing signs of mouth fungus his lower lip area where the teeth should be has this fuzzy looking thing i am pretty sure it's fungus...

does anyone have experience with this on flowerhorns before? what is the best med for this? All i have right now in my med cabinet is ich med and Metro.

please help. and sorry for the bad quality pic best i can do but im sure its fuzzy looking thing

I dont see it but try some waterchanges and salt for a few days before meds... Dont look bad enough to jump into meds yet. Do 50% wc then add 1Tbs per 5gal of water. 2 Days later do the same only add 1Tbs salt per 10gal of water. See if fish gets better or worse... If that doesn't work post some better pics or get some fungal meds or maybe even try som melafix.

i agree with the salt meds.... { marycyn} if you have to medicate :( but only in a dire situation!!! always try to be chemical free :)
 
well here's how he looks like now...

im debating whether it is columnaris or true fungus.. help me identify it please
 
If you are reffering to the white stuff coming from the gills I don't know what that is... I thought this was a fuzz in his mouth? I still don't see anything in its mouth. Is the crap behind his gill plate fuzzy or just white bumps?

It's fuzzy but nothing like the "true fungus" which is like cottony

he has similar white stuff in a very small area in his mouth
