Have you tested your water?
Yes
If I did not test my water...
  1. ...I recognize that I will likely be asked to do a test, and that water tests are critical for solving freshwater health problems.
Do you do water changes?
Yes

Good evening.
I have quite a large pond and I happen to spot this fish today. He’s in a QT tank but I believe he is far too gone to save. My assumption is that he got a scratch from a rock and got infected. I have the temp at 85 in the QT but I was hesitant to treat with salt and an atibiotic. What do you guys recommend?
0 ammonia
0 nitrite
20-40 nitrates on the API test. Hard to tell between 20-40.

I feel like I’ve read somewhere that warmer waters can accelerate fungus. So I’m not sure what to do. First time I experience an ulcer/fungus like this?

Heat could be the stressor triggering secondary infections.

Sorry I’m coming in kinda late. How is the koi right now?
I had a new koi that had a bad ulcer this spring. Sadly I didn’t catch it in time to save it.
Im sure at this point an antibiotic is it’s only hope. And I do like to use salt when trying to prevent fungus from taking hold.
