My 3 inch socolofi cichlid has a white cotton looking fungus/infection on its inner mouth, any ideas what it is exactly and possible treatments? I have a tiger barb with the same looking growth on its fin. I have a 125 gallon with a couple catfish and a TT eel and a fire eel, also a clown loach. any ideas with the best treatment would be great.

This is certainly bacterial infection rather than true fungal infection. Isolate all afflicted fish and treat with Maracyn and Maracyn 2 combination.
my friend had a goldfish that had this white stuff all over his/her body. it was gross. how does this bacterial infection come about... vaguely. im not looking for a diagnosis. just a random comment. it wasnt mine so i cant give specifics.
