Just picked up a used 210, seller had it running with pbass up until the day I picked it up. Filtration is an fx5 with carbon and 2 trays completely pack with bio media. Stock includes 2 rays, 2 gars, a jar, and 3 tinfoil barbs. Tank is in the basement with very very little sunlight if any. Regular tank lights on left on for about 10 -12hours a day. Sand substrate, water para are perfect, and temp is 86f with about 1lb of salt per 100gl

Okay now heres my question, I have something growing on my tank glass. it is very small almost looks like a spec. about 100 of them of so. Noticed it about aweek ago. I didn't really think about it to be honest with you guys. Noticed more of them this morning and now I am kind of worried.

They kind of look whiteish green, this i why I am not sure if it is algae or fungus. And all of them have this brownish color dot in the middle of each one. Let me know what you guys think, I will try to take pics as soon as I can, I am out the door for work now. Info you guys have any suggestions let me know.

BTW one of my stingrays had fungus on her tail, tail was kind of damaged when being moved. That is why my tank temp is 86 its normally 82f, also usullt don't use salt. Could this be fungus growing from the fungus from my ray or vice versa. Thanks and sorry for the long post, want to give you guys as much info as possible.

i had a similar thing growing on my glass, unsure what it was and now have tiny bits really small and hard to see looks like dust "jerking" around in the water... after reading up i think they are a sort of copepod or cyclops and have been told if you can see them moving it wouldnt be ich and should be fine so i have added some salt and doing daily 10 percent w/changes...

I thought Copepods are only in SW?

What you have is probably just some build up, I get it when I overfeed my tank. I think you should add some more filtration though..

okay so I am thinking these maybe some kind of FW snail?? they dont move, but when I try to scape them off, they are sucked onto the glass. So far they have not grown or mutilplied. I have about 2lbs of salt per 100gl, shouldn't they dy if they are snails?
