Obama had a white mark that looked like a bite on his side by his pec fin about 2 weeks ago. It's spring again, and the full grown mature 5" GSP's get territorial. He was getting picked on and 1 bite turned into 4, so i erected a maze of rocks and plants, so he could escape his abuser.

As for treatment, he's such a good boy, he's been the best patient. He let me net him and I applied Methylene Blue to the spot. This worked before when he had a white spot on his belly but this time it caused it to blow up into what you see in the pics.

Next I treated the tank with Pima Fix and Melafix, but no result.
Water changes every 48 hours. I'm pouring the tank salt over him, so hes getting a salt bath.
All parameters are normal, tho nitrate is .5, but this is just the last 5 days.

This thing is making him miserable. No flashing, just sad and depressed. Eating ok.
What do you think?

Thanks! I got 54 for adoption, if youre ever in the area...;)

That looks almost like a giant heater burn or ammonia burn. Your description points to fungus, but it doesn't look fuzzy like your typical fungus. Bacterial maybe?

Are these in fw, bw, or sw? Also what kit did you use to test your water to get the .5 reading? (That's reef kit type accuracy)

Thanks for the offer but,
Way to far away, but I was thinking of getting one. Are there any species that could live in a 29 gallon? Or is that too small?

If you want an active one a figure 8 is awesome for your tank. Brackish but just 1.005 which is very cheap with salt.

Aside from that you have the spotted congo which is awesome but pricey. I personally like abei's but good luck finding one. Modestus is another good choice but dental work is unavoidable (its easy though).

Lurker style. A congo miurus is the only one in can think of.

it had started out as a bite, which spead into a big fuzzy spot after I treated with m-blue. I noticed some sloughing and moved him into a 30 gallon hospital tank., and started treating with Furan 2 and kanaplex. they are brackish and I test with API freshwater kit.
Notice the pinkish spot within the white spot in the latest pics. That appeared 3 days ago.
