On the Rio Araguaia, I wish...
Alright just had to share this with all of yall it was hillarious. So tonight I'm downstairs cleaning out the 240 and doing about a 45% water change, I get all the water out then the new water back in, treated it with prime, then treated it with copper safe because I was a little leary about a spot or 2 I saw on a fish in the tank. I also added my ph buffer in to raise the ph a little bit because it was a bit on the low side and would need more then just the water change to get it where I wanted it again. So mid pour on the Ph buffer out of the corner of my eye I see something LEAP! To my bewilderment and especially to my girlfriends (sitting about 6-7ft away on the couch) my Fei Feng had launched itself about 3ft in the air over my head out of my tank and landed on my girlfriend who was laying on the couch, she started freaking out then the fish flopped itself about half way across my den before I could get ahold of him to place him back in the tank. So total distance out of the tank was about 15ft probably, the most amazing thing was though, having my Fei Feng launch itself nearly 3ft above the top of the tank and about 6-7ft distance wise without that much room to get a swimming start. Needless to say I was impressed. Hope yall enjoyed my story, it was hillarious to see ~Trent

So I guess your fish is fine then, would have been good to be a fly on the wall to see your gf flip out when the fish landed in her lap.

That's great. Imagine if a Silver Arowana had landed in her lap!

I can beleive it. A friend of mine had his 8" bala shark jumped out of a bucket with 6" if water in it. The fish went about 8' on the fly.

So how is the fish doing?

I am sorry, I don't understand....What was your girlfriend wearing? Do you have a picture of your girlfriend so we understand what you are saying here? :D :grinno:

Hrmmm Guess I'm going to have to make sure there are no holes for my Fei Fung to fly out of. I like this little guy, always active and spends all his time sucking on the glass.

When I moved my flagtail from my 75 to the 180 he was very jumpy for about 2 weeks. I was at work one day and my wife was making dinner and she herd a weird noise. She went to check it out and it was the flag tail that had jumped through a plexi lid and 10' from the tank into the hallway. When she got there he was flopping around with our 3 huskys surrounding it. I was very proud of her she got him cleaned off and back into the tank by herself without any injuries to her or the fish. So needless to say these guys are very powerful jumpers, I would definitely not want to get hit by one.
