Those guys crack open nuts in the wild.
I would not offer up your finger. :D

Not that hand feeding is a horrible idea, as long as you are careful and they dont jump out of the tank when they get bigger.

I was gonna say the same thing, if they can crack nuts open imagine what they can do to your finger!!

Actually I heard a story I think over on AC or something of some guy with a pacu pond who used to hand feed... He has 1 less digit now..

When the trees spread their seeds in the river they have a tough shell to protect them from animals and so they dont start to rot in the water when they float around but the pacus teeth are designed to crack those nuts and its much protein in there for tha pacu also, im glad they think about their health and go with a strict diet and dont just eat junkfood ;)
 
I got it instead of telling this guy not to stick his finger in the pacu tank let the pacu tell him not to. You see I learn by my mistakes, I have learned not to tease a three foot lungfish by having him grab my finger and not let go. Lost one finger nail and some pride. Learned not to stick my finger in a lungfish tank.
 
dude even at that size if the pacu managed to inhale your finger on a lunge for thinking it was food yall would immediatelly regret it

i have 2 pacu an i would never let it go near my finger
