Funny Shrimp and Filter Experience

I bought 4 Cherry Shrimp just yesterday and today I couldnt find 1 of them. Looked under rocks and outside of the tank.

I eventually came to the conclusion that it got sucked into the filter and got pureed.

As I was going to the bathroom to clean out shrimp guts, I saw the guy through the clear plastic of my AquaClear filter walking around and picking up food at the last layer underneath the filter sponge.

Unfortunately he lost a leg but hes swimming around like nothing happened. Clear see through filters are great. Now I have some thin fabric covering the filter intake.

That reminds me... I gotta go get some shrimp today. 6 Ghost for my planted tank, 6 Ghost for my Oscars monthly treat, and a few dozen from Publix to go into my 4 cup cocktail sauce container. Shrimp are great aren't they?

I tossed 4 cherry and glass shrimp into the refugium as a clean up crew.

After a few months I have a few dozen in my bio chamber another dozen in my pump well, I keep fishin 'em out before they go for a ride, and once or twice a week I see one in the DT. But not fer long.
