I got this 3'' male peacock thats being a pain in my ass. Water parimeters are near great, he's being housed in a 55 gal tank with only a 4'' L203 pleco as a tankmate. I've had him for a number of months with several other malawi cichlids and during that time he accepted all types of food very happily but due to aggression issues he is now by himself. Now that the competion is gone he has become an extremely fussy eater. Some of the foods I'm feeding are: Frozen and dried brine, Hikari cichlid gold and Hikari bio-gold pellets, New life Spectrum cichlid formula all of which he'll take and immediately spit out. Even after not feeding for a few days trying to break him of this habit He will probably eat one maybe two pellets to get by and leave the rest. The only thing that he will readliy eat every time with no problem is Hikari freeze dryed krill and frozen blood worms (that I hate due to the mess). Any recemendations on food? Or should I just throw in another peacock and give him some compition? Would a 55 gallon be large enough for two or three male peacocks? Getting to a point where his colors are starting to die down. took this pic a few weeks ago. Not this bad any more but used to be much better>

I would suggest you try some flake food. Try alternating the food you give to him. I would also suggest you look at putting in a couple more fish into the tank. I believe he is lonely!:naughty: :woot: :clap :headbang2

A couple different colored males or same species females would probably do the trick. You could also try some dither fish like giant danios.

I guess he does look lonely in there doens't he?

That tank looks great! Put a cpl of other fish in there to give him some feeding competition I bet that will make him come around. Best of luck.
