Future Planning? (need to start)

Ok guys my flowerhorn is around the 3inch mark now... hes in a 3ft tank with around 23 gallon... with a few other fish, i was wanting to plan a future tank ONLY for him..and MAYBE another female or male.

I was going to introduce him to the new tank fast as possible since he scares the crap outta the other fish, and they all hide their colors...

So i was wondering if a 3ft tank would be fine for just HIM ALONE ? I honestly think it will be fine, and if we had to follow the rules on keeping different fish, a lot of fish cant be kept my normal people.

I live in an apartment so my house space is not really big. Thanks.

What about a big 48" tank, like a 90 or 120 gallon?

A 3 ft tank would work if it had breeder dimensions 36x18, preferably the 65g version. Problem is the 12" wide tanks are barely sufficient for a fish like that.
