after my first successful venture into the world of paludariums (not enough time is all) i have finally cut my work schedule down from 95 hrs/wk to 40 hrs/wk soon to be 69 hrs/wk. and here is my list of ideas for my next project(s)
Idea #1. I want to make another paludarium, but this time I really want to create an underground tunnel of pvc piping that shoots up like a sprinkler to water my plants automatically. I would like 1-1.5" pvc piping on the bottom and then 1" piping running along the front/back sides of the tanks setup as pillars. I want to turn the standing pvc piping into moss covered log look-alikes
should be pretty neat
question: what?/how many? pumps will i need to keep the water pressure high enough to create a sprinkler effect to run up 10"H 1"diameter pvc piping x 10 pipes. i'd have 1 pipe in the center and then 9 pipes around the border of a 40 gallon breeder? Any suggestions?!
Idea #2: i want a combination tank of various reptile/amphibian/fish species in a 125 gallon tank. What i want to do is have a tank with multiple islands
like HUH*VY*EE but i'd probably limit it to 2 islands seperated by 3 feet or so.
Question: with the exception of concrete, what other materials can i use to keep the islands higher than the water level? i want the islands to be somewhat realistic looking, no plain/simple squares/circles. i thought about foam, but i was traumatized as a kid and the sound of foam squeaking makes my ears ring for hours. Any ideas?
Question: i really want mudskippers, but i also want the beauty of firebelly toads. and then i want fish that won't be eaten by the frogs, but also wont eat the frogs. i figure in a 125, i can have the islands stand about 18" high. and the water level about 14" high with paths leading up to the islands from the water. I'll lowball and say i have about 40 gallons of water to stock fish in. I don't have any ideas, but i do want something ropefish shaped, completely freshwater. Any ideas on this?
Question: I really want to grow moss. Can i email simple 'paint' pictures for someone to post? let me know
thanks for reading and all of the help that will be provided!!!
