Hey Everybody,

You may have read throughout some threads about my cousin purchasing a 60 gallon aquarium. I've been helping him research/helping him purchase equipment. After seeing numerous salt water fish throughout the store we visited I soon was being drawn into this hobby...:grinno:
I've decided on a location for it,

in the image is a 4ft by 2ft by 3ft stand. I'm thinking of placing a tank on that stand since their is nothing on it and I'm in this particular room most of the time on the computer.

If I was to go large on my first sw tank it would be a 4ft by 2ft by 2ft nearly 125 gallons! The question is should I start small like a 40 gallon breeder or even a 55 gallon since it's my first sw tank?

Also please check:

^That is to primarily help my cousin I will greatly appreciate it.
Also check back, because when I get my answer I will ask what kinds of fish would thrive in this tank....thanks!

when starting out your best off going as big as you can afford since water parameters' aren't forgiving in the saltwater side of the hobby. With a bigger tank you have time to catch it compared to the smaller tank. need anymore help send me a PM

i would go with the largest tank i could afford when i started saltwater i got a 24 gal nano cube and was not satisfied so now i got a 90 gal reef and now i'm looking to get a 180 gal tank.so yes bigger is always better.good luck
