About a month ago I built my first plant tank. Its a 29 gallon. I got 3 adult black mollies to cycle it. They had babies 3 days after they were put in there. All the babies got caught in the filter except one. Its almost an inch long now. A little over 2 weeks ago I got a snail infestation. I got a baby clown loach to take care of that problem. I figure I can buy him a friend and put both of them in my 95 gallon tank when hes done eating the snails. About a week ago I got an algae bloom which I thought was weird because Ive been testing the water every other day. I was worried about getting the clown loach out of there before the tank cycled. I guess the plants made the cycling gentle??? I have had perfect water every time I tested. The temperature is 78 degrees and I use aquarium salt.
Sorry that was long winded but here is my problem...
When I work up this morning I had this white stuff all over my driftwood. It looks fuzzy like mold. One of the mollies has a patch of white stuff on its right side. The clown loach is fine (I know they are prone to ick)
I tried to get a good picture of it....anyone know what it is?
My driftwood is reptile wood I bought at a pet store. I boiled it for 15 min and it was outside in the sun for 2 weeks in water. I changed the water every 3 days. I ended up attaching a stainless steel rod to get it to sink. Its in the picture thanks to the loach...his favorite place to trench.
