FW Barracuda Availability/Pricing in US

Just something that's been nagging me for a while...I get faxed lists from several wholesalers weekly, and for a long time now I haven't seen any FW barracuda at all. None at any of the lfs I frequent, none online, the only mention I see of them now on MFK is usually in the UK. And the last time I did see one on a wholesaler list, it was going for 25.00usd, which is what I would normally expect to pay retail for them. Anyone else notice this happening? Is it maybe just a northeast us thing? When's the last time you saw some at an lfs and how much? Really curious because these are among my favorite FW fish and now that I have a monster tank that needs stocking they were top on the list.
 
My wholesale list at work labels any acestro as FW barracuda. Ive seen three different species labeled like this. Right now they are 11.95 wholesale which is actually a bit lower then I usually see them as the price tends to hover between $15 and $17 whole sale. It could be the size as they are only 2-3"ers.
 
isn't the true fw barracuda a acestroryhchus falcatus? around here (northern california) they go for $80 (outrageous). but riverwonders has them 3 for $45.
 
i see em all the time they use to be hard to find i've wanted to pick some up but i don't have the tank for them yet i hope know that i say theres alot of them they don't disapear but one store had yellow and red tails in the same tank for $35 but they both go for around $30-$40 in colorado
