Hey I'm out on the hunt to complete my tank and I am wondering, what kinds of invertebrates are there?

I dont mean specific species, but I mean categories.

The ones I know of are crabs (fiddler, redclaw)
And snails (too many to mention)

I was wondering what other types are available to freshwater tanks?

I just wanted to check out my options I'm curious about jellyfish and the aegla, I've never heard of the aegla, nor FW jellies.

Also crabs sound like a good option but I know very few fish-safe crabs

there are a few full aquatic crabs. Most are very very small and are more at risk from your fish then the other way around. What size tank, what inhabitants, and what pH, hardness and temp is your tank? That will give us a better idea of what would/may work for you

It's a 75 gallon, im still setting it up, the only 3 confirmed dwellers are 2 Angelfish, and 1 synodontis eureptus. Full aquatic are my only option as the tank is far too large/deep to make any accessible surface.

I'm trying to bend the parameters towards the new dwellers so that's not a problem currently.

Also im planting the tank so hopefully not something super destructive towards plants.

As for other dwelers fish wise, im most likely going to get a few cats or bottom dwelling fish and then probobly fill in the gabs with some small tetras to give the tank life.

With plants, forget all of the crabs. And, the Synodontis is going to wipe you out of all other invert options other than clams, mussels, and a few of the tougher snail species.

the angels would take out the species of crabs I was talkign about as well as most dwarf shrimp. You may be able to have larger fan filter shrimp or possibly adult amano shrimp or maybe peaceful cray but most of those either A. Eat plants or B. will get eaten by your fish

I didn't realize the syno's would murder inverts, I've kept the one I have with 2 flower shrimp with no incidents, and I've had the angels living with 2 red claws (untill they found a way out and had to move them).

How destructive will the crabs be towards the plants? It's going to be relatively heavily planted and I will most likely get them after I grow the tank out nicely. I assume they'd only chip away at them rather than annihilate the tank.
