Hey

Now i can get a cheap moray eel, but im not really sure about how aggresive they are, will they attack other fish:confused:, e.g jardini, stonefish. the jar is 30cm and the stony is 15cm, and the tank is gonna be 6x2x2, im gonna bury tubes and stuff in the gravel and rocks for him.:D

have any of you kept one of these before?please tell me how it turned out, any info is needed!. thnx in advance

I kept a pair of them for a lot of years...they are not aggressive in the least. That myth stems from the fact that they are almost completely blind and will strike at anything they think might be food...(Yes I have the scars to prove it...lol)

Provide plenty of hiding spots and you wont have any trouble with them. FAIL to provide hiding spaces and they will stress out big time.

I knew I have a pair when babies started swimming around the tyank...other than that I have NO clue how to sex them... We see them locally for $20.00 for a 14" to 16" eel.

so how much would a 30 cm go for on the market (retail). do you think.

The few that I've seen over here in Aus command pretty high prices, usually around $160 for a roughly 30cm specimen.

I had my FW snowflakes in with a pair of rubber eels and some assorted cichlids. tire tracks and fire eels would probubly work as well.

If you can get it for $75, I would definitely grab it. You could try keeping it with a Long finned or Short finned Eel.

the one I had wasn't particulary aggressive, although it bit a huge chunk out of an archer when it was in a pretty small growout tank.
