Anyone know of a site I can ID my 21'' eel on?
I just wanted to know if it needed SW....

SHow us a picture ...Color....

Here, it is most likely a snowflake. Also, they are not freshwater, they need high end brackish.

it'll need bw and is more than likely G. tile, but a picture would help, or you could google that name.

I know. Its in brakish...Just making sure it doesn't need SW. :)

Ok....Its a g-tile..
I knew the requirements when I got it....I HAD rescue this guy though. It was being sold as full fw.
Will hih end brakish with some monos and scats work?
Any kind of puffer maybe?
BTW..hes at leas 21"

Fom my understanding this species will only get a little longer than he is now and the g. tile is brackish and I am thinking of getting one myself. It is considered one of the truly "fw" morays like the one I have. I will also be adding a red scat. The fish you mentioned are good tank mates. I have a toadfish and an albino moray edchinda rhodilicus I believe which will stay about the same size as the g tile.

I have been told that if the eel was caught in fresh to brackish water and placed in a brackish tank they will most likely be ok depending on how young they are. They are slow growers and the time it would take to where they would have problems from being in brackish instead of sw they would more likely die of other things just from being in captivity or even worse you may also pass on or be too old to care for them. Some morays have been known to live 40 yrs in captivity.
