There are 3 naturally occurring "striped" bass species, and a hybrid stocked species "wiper", in the lakes around where I live.

White striped bass (Morone chrysops)- grows to about 5.5lbs

Yellow striped bass (Morone mississippiensis)- grows to about 1lb (best color/pattern IMO)

Striped bass (Morone saxatilis)- grows to about 28lbs

"Wiper" bass- striped bass x white perch hybrid- ? adult size varies. Looks more like M. mississippiensis in body shape but, the two dorsals are not joined as they are in the yellow striped bass.

The white and striped bass require large tanks with strong water flow, low turbidity, and excellent aeration. The yellow striped bass is better suited for smaller aquariums and I've grown bunches of them out to be winter food for my larger predators.
