FW water lice? please ID 'bug'

Saw this crawling on some driftwood. about 1mm long. paracite or just another aquatic thing? it may have come with some driftwood.

Looks like some kind of little isopod
 
Yeah, harmless isopod, probably a Lirceus species. Some isopods are parasites, but this one is a detritivore.

agreed.

and to whoever said that fish lice look like horshoe crabs.... there are parasitic isopods that look very much like the one posted here.
 
Definately an Isopod, I find tons of them clinging to seaweed in up here evry summer...is this a saltwater tank?
 
I like it! If it's non parasitic, I'd keep it. Fresh or saltwater?
 
fresh. im sure it hitch hiked on driftwood from the pond
