Setting up 150 gal tank plan to run (2) FX 5 On It . Please advise me on media placement. and should I set up media same in both fx-5 . (I Have no clue) Thank you for your help

just put bio media in both filters. you'll be fine with the sponges that come with the fx5 and the bio media

I Did not buy the pond matrix. I Have reg matrix. so do you think i should get filter pads or use scrubbies in the bottom tray so that the matrix do not fall below ? thanks a great deal.

I run 2 x FX5s on my 350 and 1 x FX5 on my 150. I really think two on a 150 is overkill...particulalry, in terms of turbulence within the tank...but, that's me. I would install a single FX5 on the 150 and keep the other one for a reserve (if already purchased). Anyway, I use the white sponges provided and fill each central chamber with Ehfisubstrat Pro and my water quality is perfect. However, I also perform water changes religiously. Since the impeller is BELOW the media on an FX5 and depending upon the particular biomedia type (shape, diameter, etc.), you may want to install some fiberglass screen cutouts in the bottom of each media chamber to prevent fragments from falling through. I would recommend avoiding the use of any pads within the central media chambers.

Ok, The Fiberglass Screen,Could you tell how i would go about purchasing it. Thank u for your help.

Home Depot, TrueValue, etc. The other thing you can use is the 1/8" plastic mesh that they sell for needlepoint. You can get that at Michael's. Just cut out some circles and drop them into the bottom of each media chamber.

I run bioMax in my fx5. works wonders.

X2.. I loaded all 3 trays with BioMax

Dog, you should have gotten the pond matrix... you might need media bags for the reg matrix. Your other option is to put a course pad on the bottom tray.

Also, 2 FX5 would be an over kill. If you have not bought the second one yet get an AC110 instead and thats still overkill. HA!
