FX height?

Can somone mesure the hieght of thier FX with the hose on? I got my 240 setup and bought an Eheim 2260 that said it was 22in tall (per website)since my stand is only 24" i figured it would fit but come to find out its really around 26 with pump and hoses so i had to put it in the corner next to the tank and it looks like crap. I was wondering if the FX at 17in tall (per website) would fit if so I will get two of them and sell the 2260 that i payed a small fortune for.

Cant you turn the pump on the 2260 so that it out puts out the side instead of the top? Also remove the cover to gain some room. If you do that, is it still too tall?

I removed the top it didnt help, If i could find a way to run the pump off the bottm so the input and output will be switched that may work. I will just have to find some adaptors since the input/output fittings are different sizes.

Since the pump is mounted on the top and then has a hard 90 degree angle hooking that up why not just remove the pump from the unit altogether and mod the connection to the lid? You could maybe use a bulkhead type fitting with an angled 90 that has threads on one side and a barb on the other.
