I have a 125gal tank, relatively heavily stocked. 7bichirs ranging from 7in Palmas to 14in endli, 3 albino hecklii, ebjd, and 2 African brown knife fish. I have an fx4, and an aquaclear110, and pothos in the tank. Everything is fine, but the tank isn't clear as it used to be, in my fx4 I have all the standard media that it comes w in it. My question is should I replace the ceramic rings and lava rocks w something else? Put some ceramic rings at the bottom of the bucket? Add new sponges? If I remove the redtrays and just add more ceramic rings to the trays would that make my filter better? Any suggestions are appreciated. The filter is about 2 years old w regular maintenance cleaning every 3 months

I personally would just replace the pads if they ate worn and maybe clean every 2 months and see if that helps. I would inspect the 110 AquaClear's sponge also.

The 110 is brand-new, I added it in replacement ofna generic hob. The filter was just cleaned about a month ago, but now after a.few water changes the tank gets clear for a day or 2 then gets cloudy, it's not terrible, but mily tank has usually always been clear. Water test checks out every week.too, even brought to 2 lfs to check and everything was good. The fish are fine and swimming/growing. But it just looks ugly ?
