KNEW JEEZY
:nilly: i did the most stupidest things today. For the first time after about 6 months, i decided to go ahead and do maintainance on my newly aquired fx5.

I was pretty happy on how easy it is to clean, i thought it would look really bad inside, but it looks pretty clean for sho !!! only thing i feed with this tank is mk prawn and hikari floating stiks.

to make long story short, as i go ahead and put everything back together, i forgot to put the intake and outake hose together. as soon as i was under the 125g and pluged it in, the water hit me straight in my face, and then i hit my head on the top of the aquarium as i reacted on the situation. i hit my head so hard that i have a minor gush in my head and feel sum bleeding on top !:screwy:

i cursed the fx5 up while puddle of water was all over the floor as blood gushed from the top of my head !!!

what a effin bummmer !

what can i say, fx5 is a beast, but it bites you in the butt if you dont be careful ;) for the most part, i dont need stiches at least

anyone else with this kind of experience with the fx5 :naughty:

Bro i feel bad for having a giggle reading about your misfortune. Hope your ok though...

The first time i setup my fx5, i read that it was self priming (missed the part where it tells you in the manual to add some water into the canister first) so i didnt bother putting in water, it sat there grinding away before it caught onto me that i needed some water in it to prime.... no where near to smashing the top of my head and getting stiches hehehe

ugh sounds painful. i like my fluval 305 canister. it has a shut off that doesnt let it squirt water out when the hoses are disconnected. well at least i dont think so haha. i havent tested the theory. but that's what all those levers appear to be doing. lol but sorry bout your head. hope you heal up well.

sorry to hear about your misfortune bro. Ya, who would've though you can be painful physically from getting spray by water?:D I hope it's nothing to serious and hope you don't go quitting the hobby cuz of one misfortunate. Well at least you can go tell your friends and family that fish keeping is not boring now. I think this coudl've happen to any filters and not just FX5. I remember when I did my first Eheim filter maintaince and I spray myself all wet like I'm in a wet tshirt contest drench in beer. I disconnected the intake hose without thinking to remove the intake off the tank before disconnecting.
