FX5 air purging question

Question for you FX5 users.

I set up the filter approx 2 hours ago. I am still getting a slight agitation sound once or twice every 5minutes. Sounds like there is just a bit of air left inside.

Is this common? Or should I only be hearing the slight hum of the motor?

I cycled the power a couple of times earlier and it does not seem to clear up etc.

PS would it help if I turned down the outputs using the valves on the top???

Hello, I get a little but of air noise in mine every time I clean it. I figure it just trapped air coming out from the media. I always goes away in a few hours.

i use two FX5s and i don't have this problem u might want to make sure u didn't accidently cut a small hole in your tubing and that is sucking air or make sure all fittings are tight

all the aquastop valve do is shut off the water so u can clean the fliter ez i wouldn't mess with them unless i am cleaning

Try tilting it side to side and forward to backward. Thats what I do with my fluval 404, and that lets a lot of the trapped air up to the impeller where it gets blown out.

Hey, thanks for the responses.

It cleared up after a couple hours and is running quiet now.
