Hi, I know about the search function, just not having any luck with it.

I read a thread here where people were saying that the water in the canister is forced from the bottom up to the top. If this is true then something like biomax would be at the top. But here, http://www.drsfostersmith.com/product/add_info.cfm?pCatId=17320 as well as FX% literature, the wate is forced from the top to the bottom. Which is right.

thanks..........rick

Tommy and I use ehaim media for the fx5 and some coar foarm which is very good.

Fx5 is opposite of tetratec filters. In the Fx5 water starts at top and moves down through the trays to the bottom, then back into the tank.

Water flow is different in various canisters. In the smaller fluvals water goes in a loop pattern, down one side and up the other.
