Fx5 flow

The flow from my fx5 is terrible, I clean it out once every 1-2 months and the water seems to be trickling out by the time I clean it.. On the other hand, my two cheap 2000lph canisters are still going hard at the same time, pushing out about 10x that of the fluval, anybody else have this problem? I'd clean more often but I know over cleaning can cause problems..

EDIT Tank is a 260 with two 12" cigar sharks, an 8" ornate and two 6" bristle nose plecos

I'm going to have to agree, there is an abstraction somewhere. May be time to do a full tear down on the fx5

Check the strainer at the water pickup then clean the hoses
they get algae that grows inside of them . Good luck .

I did away with the polishing pad in my fx6 because it would clog in a weeks time. I feed a lot of zucchini and there is floating particles from it occasionally.
